Dermatology May 17, 2018
Seyed Jafari SM, et al. - Experts evaluated the different treatment strategies in patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). Surgery, nonantibiotic topical therapies, antibiotic topical therapies, systemic antibiotics, and biologics in 11.8% of the patients were the most commonly administered treatments. They noted an association of HS as a chronic, recurrent inflammatory skin disease with smoking and obesity. The most frequent treatment strategy for this disease was an application of systemic antibiotics. Nonetheless, the most effective treatment strategy was surgical intervention. A response to the treatments was demonstrated by 84.6% of the patients.
