A novel way to dynamize a spatial frame and optimize fracture healing

Injury Oct 08, 2020

Iobst C, Milne E, Khoury A, et al. - In this study, the impact of modified shoulder bolts incorporated into a spatial frame during dynamic loading was explored. This research evaluated the motion between the bone fragments in a number of configurations of external fixation with and without dynamization. There was no variation in vertical displacement between the Ilizarov and all struts locked. This study's findings demonstrate that modified shoulder bolts can be applied for spatial frame dynamization without increasing shear motion.
