A national population-based study of adults with coronary artery disease and coarctation of the aorta
The American Journal of Cardiology Sep 27, 2018
Pickard SS, et al. - Researchers assessed if in the current era there is an independent relationship between coarctation of the aorta (CoA) premature myocardial infarction (MI) or early coronary intervention. Compared to the patients without CoA, patients with CoA currently have MI at a slightly younger age and undergo coronary intervention at a significantly younger age. Continued close surveillance for and treatment of modifiable risk factors for CAD were supported. After adjusting potential confounders, and compared to patients without CoA, patients with CoA who underwent coronary intervention were 15.6 years younger.
