Newswise Feb 13, 2021

Hackensack University Medical Center’s Cardiovascular experts, David Landers, MD, vice chair, Heart & Vascular Hospital and Sameer Jamal, MD, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist, Heart and Vascular Hospital cardiologist, in coordination with Hackensack Meridian Health’s COVID-19 Recovery Center, are currently evaluating more than 20 patients with Post COVID Syndrome exhibiting symptoms of fatigue, heart palpitations and labored breathing, well after recovery from their COVID-19 infection.

The IRB approved, prospective observational study, is actively enrolling patients, with the hopes of providing an etiology and uncovering a plausible mechanism(s) that may suggest potential treatment.

Some initial impressions include:

1: Who gets Post COVID Syndrome

2: How long it lasts

3: What therapies exist

4: What are the symptoms

5: How do you know that they are not caused by something else

6: What tests should be done

7: Are the tests dangerous and are the tests covered by insurance

8: Can you return to work

9: Can you transmit the disease when I have Post Covid Syndrome

10: Should you exercise
